Who manages the club and who will be coaching my child?
Tom Ackerman is the Club Director and is the head women's volleyball coach at Greenville College. 

How does the tryout process work?
We select who we feel are the best players at the tryout.  We intend to keep one team per age group and 10 players on each team.  When the tryout is over we will call you that night if you have made a team.  You have until Sunday at 7pm to commit to a team.  We only call those who make the team and if you are not selected you will not receive a call.  We would love to keep everyone, but we don't have unlimited gym time or enough quality coaches to do so.  There is a $15 tryout fee that is non refundable, and if you make a team it applies towards your total bill.    

How much does it cost?

13s and 14s-$385 Local and regional play only, 5 tournaments all held at Greenville College.  We will have a 13s and a 14s team out of the Centralia area in addition to 2 13s and 2 14s teams out of Greenville. 

15s,16s and 17s- $600 Regional play only, 7 tournaments, and the team will play in the Mideast Qualifier.  Practice will be 2 nights a week Tues. and Thursdays 8-10pm.

18s Elite-$800 Regional play only, 7 tournaments, and a the team will play in the Mideast Qualifier.  Tom Ackerman and Jenna Marcotte will coach the team.  Practice will be 2 nights a week Tues. and Thursdays 8-10pm.

The  cost reflects tournament entry fees, USAV registration, uniforms, administrative fees, and coaches.  These costs are based on ten players per team, if that number should be less the cost would increase. 

Is my daughter guaranteed playing time?
Everyone will play in every tournament, although amount of playing time will be determined by the head coach based on commitment, effort, attitude, and skill level.  You are paying for coaching not for a certain amount of playing time.  Simply put, some kids will play more then others.  

How often do you practice and can my daughter play another sport during club season?
15s, 16s, 17s, and 18s will practice Tues. and Thurs. evenings at Greenville College from 8-10pm.  13s and 14s will practice Tues. and Thurs. 6-8pm at Greenville College.  We have no problems with athletes who play other sports as long as they understand they may not play as much if they miss practices.  We also ask that you communicate with your other coaches about your club commitment.

How far do you travel?
13s-14s will play all tournaments in Greenville.  15s-18s will play some tournaments in Greenville, but will also travel within the Midwest.
 
Do you offer any fundraisers to help with cost?
Gravity will not sponsor any fundraisers, but is very willing to help promote any offered by a parent.
